The world-scale production plant for acetylene built by BASF at its Ludwigshafen site went into operation at the end of 2019 to supply the approximately 20 production plants at the same location that use acetylene as a raw material for many other products. The built-up area covers 5.5 ha, while the finished plant is up to 90m high. promaintain was commissioned to manage the innovative scaffolding in one of two construction lots. To this end, it trained, coordinated and supervised up to 120 scaffold erectors, closely monitoring every aspect of the work until the successful conclusion of the project.
